My Public Apology to "Blogging in America"
November 14th 2008 06:17
Anyone who has been a regular reader here at My Life My Muse knows that Politics, especially the recent historic Presidential race have been my passion. I actually became involved in blogging about Barack Obama on another site well before he announced his candidacy.
I faithfully followed and became completely wrapped up in all of the election coverage. I celebrated the victories, analyzed the defeats and road blocks, challenged the copious lies and smears, and through all of the tears, laughter, positive affirmations, and righteous indignations...I wrote. Many of you shared your views. Some were with me, others against, but I felt through it all a sense that we were witnessing a Sea Change of massive proportions. People were involved. People were emotionally attached to the fate of the United States. Through it all I wrote.
Then....it happened. Mere weeks before the election, it happened. One thing after the other began to stand in the way of the one thing that brought me the most joy and satisfaction and catharsis. And I stopped writing. I didn't even blog on the night that Senator Barack Obama became President Elect Barack Obama. I was there. I watched it all happen. I wept and cheered and shared the moment with those I loved...but I didn't write. I feel like I really missed something. My opportunity to share my feelings that day with those who were with me all through the process.
I am now back, and intend to return to this thing that I love.
As I logged on this evening, I started by making the rounds of some of my favorite web sites. I was smiling and frowning and doing all of the things that one does as they peruse what their fellow writers have been saying.
Imagine my surprise and embarrassment as I visited one of my favorite sites, Blogging In America. Right there, at the top of their Welcome page, I found the following message:
Featured Blogs of the (slightly more than a) Week - October 27 - November 4, 2008
We have decided to make our first Featured Blogs political sites with the U.S. Presidential election just a week away (at the time of this writing).
The first site is written by two people with different views on most things political, Jim Stillman, and Randy Inman.
www.PoliticalCertainty.com
Be sure to check out their blog to see their take on the issues which is usually informative, and often just plain entertaining.
--------------------
The second site is also a mostly political site written by Natalie 2. Her site often takes a look at the more entertaining side of political happenings, while still focusing on the more serious side at times.

Please stop by and read both of these great sites in the coming weeks.
So, for the entire duration of the time I was one of the featured writers at Blogging in America, I was absent.
As many of you know, for a writer, one of the most valuable things one can receive is recognition by another writer. It was so gracious of Gene "Two Guys Sports" of Blogging in America to feature Political Bloggers in that way, and I completely regret that not only did I not deliver any new content during the weeks leading up to the election, I didn't even thank Gene for the shout out.
So...Thank you Gene. You offer such a great forum on your site for writers and I sincerely apologize that I did not live up to my end of the deal with the feature you presented on your site.
Now, everyone go over and show some love to Blogging In America for the outstanding work that they do, and please stay tuned for a far more active and attentive discussion here at My Life My Muse.

lol Don't worry about it. I was actually beginning to wonder if something had happened to you. I missed your weekly SNL updates (which is what originally made me realize you weren't around). I will feature you again in the future, that's for sure.
Good to have you back, and I look forward to reading your upcoming posts.
Also, just because you weren't here on the night that the history was made doesn't mean you can't still write about it and your own celebration night. Oh, and wooohooo Obama!

Also you REALLY didn't need to apologize lol. It might have helped if I had let you and Jim know I was doing it before I did.
Cheryl? No problem

Cheryl, you are just plain one of my favorites! Be sure to check back, because a new SNL post is on it's way!

Political Certainty
My invitation to everyone to write or comment freely, without restriction stands, except: no name-calling or childish nick-names, no assumption that anyone writing or any prominent United States or representative of any Free World country is less than patriotic, a traitor or not acting with the best of intentions.
Dumber than a rock? Fair. A traitor wishing to destroy freedom? Out of bounds.
