SNL Sunday Recap: Sarah Palin Guest Appearance
October 19th 2008 16:05
Last night's Saturday Night Live featured the much anticipated guest appearance by Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. The REAL Gov. Palin. And once again, SNL delivered.
Palin arrived at NBC Studios at 30 Rockefeller Center shortly before the live airing without having read the script she'd be delivering and knowing nothing of the sketches she'd be involved with. Which is ok, because she really had very little to say. The SNL players mainly built the sketches around her, using her as more of a prop than anything else, and it was FUNNY! Often, public figures make appearances on SNL to humanize themselves and reach a wider audiences. Today's consensus seems to be, and I would agree, that while funny, Palin did the GOP no favors with the routine.
Also making a surprise appearance was Mark Wahlberg, who had made news recently for dissing a sketch from the last episode where cast member Andy Samberg did a spot on impression. Wahlberg was such a bad sport, that he reportedly claimed he was going to kick Samberg's ass! Well, apparently he realized he was being a bit of a baby, and attempted to redeem himself by poking fun at his own reaction. Another very funny SNL moment.
And don't forget, with SNL's Thursday Election Update, we get even more of the SNL political humor that we've come to love, with a spoof of the final debate between Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain.
I've included all of the video below for you to enjoy!

oh and the Palin cameo was really unfunny, Baldwin was wooden and it looked like Sarah didnt even understand what was going on - she was agreeing with all of their gags?!
