The Pimping of 9/11
September 14th 2008 00:16
MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, host of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" delivered a Special Comment on September 10 addressing the hijacking of the tragedy of September 11, 2001.
You see, it seems that a certain party in the U.S. has found that terrorizing the gullible public with the imagery and memory of that horrific day is a real vote getter. Unless you've been living under a rock, you've surely noticed which Party has been stooping to such tactics, but what you may not have realized is the lengths to which they will go to assure you that unless you vote with them, doom, Doom, DOOM!!
This is not an exaggeration. Senator John McCain himself has stated that he alone knows how to catch Osama Bin Laden, and that he plans to unveil this plan of his once he is elected President. Mr. Olbermann rightly points out that surely any citizen with such knowledge would reveal it to the necessary authorities immediately, otherwise they could be considered as aiding in the further escape of these "evil-doers". And, surely no one would withhold such information, or make such claims as a campaign tactic!
At the Republican National Convention, a video "tribute" to 9/11 was aired. This video contained grisly imagery that, in my mind, and in the minds of many others, was designed not to honor the dead, the survivors, or the first responders, but to recapture the sense of fear that has gripped this nation for the past seven years, and remind us that only the Republicans can save us from a repeat of the same fate.

The Political Brief
The reality is that 9/11 happened because Bill Clinton was so soft on terrorists. The only thing Clinton was able to be hard on, in fact, was Monica (and a few others). The terrorists started small and their attacks grew, and grew. During his 8 years in office Clinton did absolutely nothing (except for blowing up an aspirin factory and killing the janotor) to fight back. The contempt with which Pres. Bush was treated by the same party that did nothing to stop them, gave the terrorists the courage to attack on 9/11. Clinton had three (3) opportunities to take custody of Osama bin Laden and wasn't interested, or had you forgotten?
It would be irresponsible to not bring up the fact that the same terrorists who attacked us before are still watching TV and know all about the campaign. They have been watching! They know that Obama wouldn't have done anything to stop them. They know that Biden has the backbone of a squid, as well.
They have to be pretty sure that McCain/Palin would retalliate swiftly if attacked.
I have no doubts that we'll be attacked again. Maybe just before the election or just after the new pres. takes office. Think about it.

Although, while he stayed hidden out somewhere we did manage to play poker with some funny looking playing cards that had nothing to do with him. I bet he sits there laughing as he plays solitaire with that special edition Iraq deck of cards he purchased off eBay.

He probably plays strip poker with his co-horts while using the deck, too.

You have a point, though. A bare bin Laden isn't an attractive image...

And, before we put all of the blame on Clinton for "emboldening" the terrorists (that's a word I got from Hannity) let's not forget that while Bush was in office, before Sept. 11, he received a document titled, "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US," which refers to possible hijacking attempts by Osama bin Laden. He received this info while he was vacationing in Crawford. And yet, he claimed, and the Republicans continue to claim that there was no warning, no indication that the attacks were coming.

The Political Brief
I was alive, breathing and able to use my mind in 2001, Natalie, et al. Where were you? Did you just arrive from Mars or something? Have you no memory? Do you not recall all the UN noise about Saddam Hussein being as threat? Have you forgotten that every country on Earth (those with intelligence capabilities and reasoning powers) and even the utter loss, Bill Clinton, agreed that Saddam had to be stopped and removed from power? Remember the multitude of UN sanctions? The demands that he disarm, or else? He refused to allow the inspectors in, refused to prove that he was disarmed. And what were we supposed to think?
Like I said, Natalie, etc. put down the Kool Aid and have a sip of reality.
